📓 Lore Log #2: Room 1187 – Why It Was Sealed Shut
File No. 1187-A
Status: Room sealed.
Do not open.
Do not disturb.
Do not listen.
They tell guests that Room 1187 is under renovation.
They tell staff not to ask about it.
They tell us nothing — except to leave it alone.
But walls this old don’t keep secrets well.
And some of us remember the night the floorboards caved in…
The night she stopped dancing.
---
It began with music. Just a single note. Repeating.
No one played the piano, but it played back.
The lights blinked once, twice... then stayed off.
And when they came back on — the girl was gone.
Only her shoes remained, warm.
The smell of lemon and vinegar still seeps from under the door —
one of the failed preservation attempts, they think.
They had tried to fix her.
But something else came back.
---
No key opens Room 1187 now.
Only the brave — or the stupid — press their ear to that door.
They say you can hear her.
Still dancing. Still asking to play.
Sometimes... whispering your name.
---
NOTE:
The hallway wallpaper bubbles near the threshold.
Guests placed in adjacent rooms report headaches, dreams of water, and seeing small handprints on the inside of their mirrors.
