Lore Log #6: The Dress in the Wringer
child’s dress haunted clue
Entry #6
Date: 11/03/1962
Location: Alley Hotel – Employee Laundry Substation (now sealed off)
They found a child’s dress, still damp, tangled in the old wringer press. The fabric was pink once. Now rust-colored. Mold had crept up the hem. The scent of rosemary and ammonia still lingered, though no staff had worked there in years.
Tucked in the dress pocket was a folded photo — a little girl with missing front teeth and ballet slippers hanging over her shoulder. The back simply read:“Story. Room 1187. For collection.”
The dress was placed in storage. But two days later, it vanished. So did the employee who logged it.
The only thing left behind?A trail of wet footprints. Tiny. Barefoot. Leading back toward the service elevator.
No one ever found the original employee file.Or the original elevator blueprint.
But Room 1187 remains… occupied.
All we know for sure? These logs survived. And they may be all we have left.
